Rachael was admitted to practice as a barrister in 2003 after spending a number of years as a Crown Clerk at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. Upon admission she was engaged in various legal positions within the ODPP, including those of Committal's Legal Officer and Sentencing Prosecutor.

In 2004, Rachael sat the Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test at the College of Law, London, gaining admission as a solicitor in England and Wales. Between 2004 - 2008 she worked as a criminal defence solicitor and duty solicitor for a firm in London and later in East Sussex, carrying large and complex caseloads. During her time in the UK Rachael appeared for clients in hundreds of hearings and trials in both the Magistrate’s Court and Youth Court at various locations in London and South-East England.

In 2009, Rachael returned to the ODPP in Queensland based mostly in Beenleigh and Southport in a variety of roles, including that of Crown Prosecutor.

Rachael came to the private bar in January 2014 and after completing her Masters of Laws (Dispute Resolution) focuses her practice solely on mediation and predominantly in family law.

Rachael is a nationally accredited mediator, family dispute resolution practitioner and is recognised by Doyles as a Leading Family Mediator in Regional QLD.

Rachael is a Senior Teaching Fellow at Bond University, a mediation coach, NMAS Mediation Trainer & Assessor for the Bond University Dispute Resolution Centre and a committee member of the Gold Coast Bar Association.
